Sketchbooks

Drawn from life, over many years and across cities. In New York: models at Soho Project Space, sculpture in the galleries of the Metropolitan Museum, strangers in bars and on late-night subways. In Paris: the long poses at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, and the marbles of the Musée d’Orsay. In Barcelona, at the academy of art; in Florence, before the sculptures of the Accademia and the Bargello; and at home in India, people on temple steps, in markets and on trains. Out of these notebooks came the swans, peacocks and sleepers of Tides of Transformation.
